Music practitioner, educator, and cultural worker.

Of Peruvian heritage and raised in a Peruvian-American-Brooklynian household, Angela trained as a classical pianist at the École Normale de Musique de Paris before earning her Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory. As a Fulbright Scholar in Lima, Perú, she spent nearly five years studying and performing Afro-Peruvian music. Her relationships with Afro-descendant, Indigenous, and LGBTQ communities and activists there profoundly shaped her practice, as did an Andean understanding of Pachamama and of the relationships among beings and place.

Her current focus is participatory music-making: creating spaces where anyone can step in, make some music, and belong.
